What makes my soul sing?
My physical existence has been a journey to uncover the relationship between my physical body and my soul. My soul is who I am, I use my body to express who I am but this physical body is not me.
Coming from the soul - whether it is providing unconditional love and acceptance for self and others or hearing others speaking negatively and choosing to hear their pain instead of mirroring negativity back to them. I use my body to hear and I try to listen with my soul. I use my eyes to see but I watch with my soul. I use my mouth to speak and when I speak from a space of unconditional love and acceptance, I speak from the soul. I use my hands to touch and feel and they allow me to create with my soul.
Art from the soul is such a pure expression of self coming from a set place in time and a set time in the journey.
I have expressed my art is a variety of ways throughout many years, sketching, painting with oil, water colour and acrylic, woodcarving, as well as more everyday activities such as embroidery, crochet, sewing, renovating. Each piece of art reflects the time and course of my journey. Painting has been my one constant; fluctuating between realism and abstract depending upon the current call of my soul. I love the watercolour and acrylic mediums.
